Classes offered in:
Welcome to Robinson Center and the Childrens Swim Program sponsored by the HSES Department. The program is housed on the KU campus in the Robinson Center natatorium under the direction of Aquatics Director Bernie Kish.
Every effort is made to provide a fun and safe learning and swimming environment. Lessons are taught by Red Cross Water Safety Instructors with the help of students from the HSES Water Safety Instruction classes.
Each session includes ten 45 minute lessons. During the Fall & Spring semester, classes are offered on Saturday mornings. During the summer, classes are offered Monday through Thursday, consecutively until 10 lessons are met. The cost is $40.00 for 1 child and each additional child in the same family is $30.00
Registration is done as follows:
1) Advance registration of children enrolled in current session.
2) Mail-in and walk-in registration in Room 124, Robinson Center.

What to bring: Each child is required to wear a swimsuit. No cutoffs or shorts will be allowed. For Parent/Tot, tots need to wear snug fitting rubber pants if they are not toilet-trained. We encourage the use of cloth diapers as disposable diapers absorb too much water and weigh a ton when wet. Each child should bring his or her own towel.
Parking: Parking is available at no charge* on Saturdays during the Fall & Spring semesters in Lot 90 South of the Robinson Center tennis courts. During the summer, classes are held on weekdays when KU classes are in session. If you do not have a valid KU parking permit, you must park at a meter in Lot 90 or in the parking garage. Parking fees are $1.00/hour in Lot 90 and $1.00/hour in the parking garage. The HSES Department does not provide parking passes for participants in the Childrens Swim Program.
*Athletic events may negate the Saturday free parking. Lot 90 may not be available on those days and/or a charge may be incurred.
