The Department of Psychology and Research in Education

The Department of Psychology and Research in Education (PRE) offers graduate training in three programs.

Course work for degrees consists of didactic, one-on-one, and field experiences with professors and supervisors providing the student with the skills necessary for positions in a variety of settings. Depending on the degree, the graduate is qualified to function as a professor in a university; a counselor or psychologist in such settings as schools, colleges, community service, state and federal agencies, or private practice; or an expert in research methodology and educational psychology in private or public agencies.

The department has 15 full-time and four half-time faculty members who encourage collaborative work with students on research projects, national conference presentations, and published journal articles.  The Faculty Fact Sheet provides a brief overview of each faculty member's research interests and areas of expertise.

KU Nondiscrimination Policy

As a premier learning and research institution, the University of Kansas must continuously address issues of diversity and multiculturalism. Every member of the University community is expected to engage in action that leads toward the development of a more democratic and inclusive community.
