Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS)
A message from one of the MOPS coordinators:
MOPS is a great program that caters to the needs
of mothers with children 0-6 years old. We hold meetings twice a month to
feed our minds spiritually, emotionally, and to....well, get a break from
our children!
That's where you come in!! We need great volunteers, like you, to help care
for our children during our meetings. We ask for volunteers who are willing
to lovingly care and get down on the floor and play with our children. (How
easy is that?!)
Our MOPS group meets at the Lawrence Free Methodist Church from 9:00 a.m. to
11:30 am the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. Volunteers need to be
available from 8:45 to 11:45. We are grateful for volunteers to commit for
the entire school year, one semester, one month, or even as a substitute.
This program has meant a great deal to me as a new mother and we've been so
fortunate to have fabulous volunteers in the past who my daughter enjoyed
spending time with while I was down the hall networking and learning. The
kids have a great time playing, singing, making crafts, learning a short
bible based lesson, and eating snacks. The moms bring special goodies for
the volunteers to enjoy and I see lots of smiles from everyone! I hope to
get to know some more future teachers this next year. I know they'd enjoy
spending time with us.
Download the following document (Word) for details related to volunteer opportunities for SESO members.
